Introducing a new Alumni Program!
Tailored for graduates of Atlantic, this program serves as a dedicated professional acting gym, cultivating the growth and maintenance of sustainable acting habits through collaborative scene study, regardless of one’s career stage. This class is designed for Alumni seeking to further refine their artistic skills in acting and short scene work. The Alumni Class is poised to provide a unique and enriching experience for participants, offering a platform for ongoing artistic development for a community of dedicated actors committed to the pursuit of excellence with their craft.
Alumni will actively engage in a curriculum designed to enhance memorization skills, collaborate with new peers, experiment with choices, increase agility and receive real-time feedback and direction. Notably, the program places emphasis on working with artistic peers who share the same language of training. The goal is to create an environment that not only refines individual skills but also leans into the collective philosophy developed during participants’ time at Atlantic.
The emphasis is on active participation, with actors on their feet each class, honing their craft rather than passively taking notes. This aims to create an environment that nurtures creativity.
Every class will involve participants collaborating with fellow actors, developing a more robust working and rehearsal technique. This ensures that performance practice remains vibrant and current. The classes will explore scenes from a diverse range of texts from both stage and screen.
The structured class format encompasses various key components, including:
- Returning to the essence of “playing”
- Scene work
- Collaborative acting with new peers
- Finding freedom in text and dialogue
- Exploring the intricacies of new characters
- Seeking truth and strength in performance
- Facilitating open discussions about the artistic process and choices.
