This course is an excellent opportunity to form an ensemble and put on a show of unique one act plays. Participants will work with directing teachers to rehearse one acts, while being introduced to the elements of the Practical Aesthetics technique, created by David Mamet and William H. Macy. The emphasis of this class is on the actor’s creative rehearsal process and collaboration with a director. Actors will experience the casting process, a first read through for the ensemble, and coaching. Students will explore characters through improvisation and theater games. This class will require memorization and culminates in an invited performance of the one acts.
