This fall we are thrilled to be back in-person for our kids & teens programs! In addition to creating characters and scripts, young artists will have opportunities to produce their own work. Each class has a focus that varies from musical theater to sketch, improv, scene study, film/TV and more, but are all rooted in the Atlantic Technique.

Join us for a fun-filled journey into the world of musical theater! This workshop is perfect for young, aspiring performers who love to sing and dance and who want to be cast in, and workshop a musical. Get ready to bring the show to life through exciting staging, lively choreography, and vocal arrangements. With a special focus on developing characters, actors will work together to create a workshop performance to share with family and friends. Come showcase your talent, have a blast, and make musical magic!

Mini-Play

Step into the world of theater and experience the excitement of creating a mini play. Participants will learn beginner’s acting skills, storytelling techniques, and will bring their own characters and voice to the play, collaborating with fellow actors and their director to create an original or adapted short play to life. The course aims to develop acting vocabulary, foster creativity, imagination, and a love for performance. No prior experience is required, just a desire to unleash creativity!

This course explores the Atlantic Acting Technique, which is taught at the Atlantic Acting School’s conservatory and NYU programs. Actors will work on a mini-monologue and a short scene with a focus on developing skills of “action” and “moment,” exploring the rehearsal process, and learning to take direction. Actors will learn fun theater games. This class will rehearse a showcase to share with family and friends.

On-Camera Acting 101

Perfect for the student who is looking to gain experience in front of the camera, this class is a wonderful introduction to on-camera work through an exploration of television and film scenes and monologues. The students will begin exploring the nuances of performance as they work on real film and television scripts. The class will require some memorization.

YOUNG ACTORS conservatory
Ages 12 – 15
A fun and engaging introduction to the Atlantic Acting Technique, Practical Aesthetics, taught at the Atlantic Acting School’s Full-Time Conservatory and NYU-Tisch undergraduate Drama program. In the half-day program (11am-1pm), actors will dive into Scene Study & Technique, discovering new ways to bring characters to life. Through interactive exercises and games, they will develop their acting skills, connection to their voice, and unleash their creativity. The full day program (11am-2:30pm) will include a musical theater elective, where actors will learn staging, choreography, and vocal arrangements with an emphasis on character development. Join experienced instructors who will guide you through the development of technique and craft, , emotional depth, and the power of captivating storytelling.

Ages 14 – 18
A rigorous introduction to the Atlantic Acting Technique, Practical Aesthetics, taught at the Atlantic Acting School’s Full- Time Conservatory and NYU-Tisch undergraduate Drama program. Actors will learn to “make the difficult easy, the easy habitual, the habitual beautiful.” The half-day program coursework includes Scene Study & Technique, Voice, and Movement work. The full-day program features additional elective classes to broaden the actors vocabulary, tool kit and depth of craft. Elective examples include: Improv, Devising, Moment Lab, Song & Choreography, Casting, and Audition Technique.
