These engaging acting classes for teens & kids offer opportunities to produce their own work, explore creativity, and grow as performers. Each class has a unique focus from musical theater to sketch, improv, scene study, and film/TV, but rooted in the Atlantic Technique.

Through creative play, interactive sing-a-longs, improvisation, and movement games, the children will create their own original performance piece, inspired by a classic or beloved storybook with a director. Your kids should be ready to have lots of silly fun.

For new and returning students, this class invites students to adapt a well-known story into a short play. They’ll learn acting fundamentals, collaborate on script development, and bring original dialogue and ideas to life. With an emphasis on ensemble-building and creativity, students take ownership of their characters and explore how stories come alive onstage.

PERFORMANCE & PLAYWRITING

In this unique hybrid class, students will create original plays from scratch—learning basic playwriting structure, character development, and stagecraft. The ensemble will collaborate to devise and rehearse their short plays, culminating in a showcase of student-written scenes. Great for creative thinkers and performers alike.

SKETCH COMEDY

This workshop invites students to explore the world of sketch comedy through character creation, games, and short skits. Participants will write and perform original material, learning what makes a scene funny and how to land a punchline. The class promotes collaboration, quick thinking, and finding your own comedic voice.

ACTING FOR AUDITIONS

This course gives young actors the tools they need to walk into an audition with confidence. Students will work on monologues and cold reads, practice slating and eye contact, and learn strategies for taking direction on the spot. Great for those preparing for school shows, talent programs, or just wanting to build audition readiness.

This class introduces students to text-based acting technique using scenes from published plays. With a focus on script analysis and Practical Aesthetics, students build the tools to break down scenes, explore relationships, and make grounded choices onstage.

TV & FILM ACTING

Actors will practice auditioning for the camera, rehearsing scenes from real film and television scripts. Learn the technical differences between stage and screen performance, and gain confidence in front of the lens.

YOUNG ACTORS CONSERVATORY
New and returning students join to advance their skills with the Atlantic Acting Technique. Our Young Actors Conservatory program is an excellent way for actors to develop their skill set, gain experience and be part of an ensemble. Drawing from the renowned Practical Aesthetics taught at the Atlantic Acting School’s Full-Time Conservatory and NYU-Tisch undergraduate Drama program, this course offers both fresh insights and deeper dives into Scene Study & Technique. Whether you’re building on previous experience or starting anew, you’ll explore innovative ways to embody characters and tell their stories. Engage in interactive exercises and games that refine your acting skills, connect with your voice, and amplify your creativity. For those opting for the full-day program (11AM-2:30PM), a musical theater class follows Scene Study, immersing actors in staging, choreography, and vocal arrangements, all with a keen focus on character development.

A deep exploration of the Atlantic Technique, Practical Aesthetics, taught at the Atlantic Acting School’s Full-Time Conservatory and NYU-Tisch undergraduate Drama program, this course challenges actors to “make the difficult easy, the easy habitual, and the habitual beautiful.” The half-day program (11AM-2PM) delves into Scene Study & Technique, Voice, and Movement, providing a robust foundation for aspiring actors. For those seeking a comprehensive experience, the full-day program (11AM-5PM) expands the curriculum with two complementary classes, enhancing the actor’s toolkit and depth of craft. Dive into specialized classes like our Film/TV Casting Intensive, Classical Monologues, Improv, Devising, Moment Lab, and Audition Technique. Join us on this journey, guided by experienced instructors, as you unlock new dimensions of your acting potential.

AUDITION BOOTCAMP

Designed for actors looking to develop their audition skills, this intensive will help students build confidence in the audition room. Over six sessions, participants will select and refine monologues, learn cold-reading techniques, and receive personalized feedback on their performance. Special attention will be given to acting choices, professionalism, and how to stand out in auditions for theater, film, and college programs. The final session will simulate a real audition environment, allowing students to put their skills to the test and leave with polished audition material.
