Practical Aesthetics: On Camera

With Andy Schneeflock

Explore the application of Practical Aesthetics to the specific demands of acting for film and television. Through on-camera scene work, cold reads, and a range of contemporary material, students will learn how to make clear, specific, and truthful choices while adapting their work to different genres, formats, and styles of performance.

Coursework will include co-star auditions, single- and multi-camera scenes, guest-star material, and commercial copy, with an emphasis on working confidently, efficiently, and collaboratively in a professional on-camera environment.

Throughout the course, students will deepen their understanding of script analysis and essential action, strengthen their ability to work moment to moment, and develop greater awareness of how performance choices translate through the camera. Students will receive individualized feedback and gain practical tools they can apply to both audition preparation and work on set.
