TEEN ENSEMBLE ONE ACTS (ages 14-18)
This workshop explores Practical Aesthetics, the acting technique created by David Mamet and William H. Macy and taught at the Atlantic Acting School, through the rehearsal of short one act plays. Previous examples include Dead Boy, Down the Shore, and The Tangibles. The students will begin their first class learning (or deepening their understanding of how) to apply the Atlantic Script Analysis process to selected one act plays. Students will explore characters through improvisation, character arc, narrative through-line, and how to personalize an essential action to perform. This class will require memorization and rehearsal and will culminate in a presentation of one acts for family and friends.
