Khalia Davis, a San Francisco/Bay Area native, graduated from the University of Southern California with honors in Theatre Arts and a minor in musical theater. Ms. Davis currently teaches in the Atlantic for Kids program as a director and choreographer, trains under Renee Redding-Jones in Movement for first year NYU students, and works with the Disney Theatrical Group leading music and movement workshops and facilitating audience and community engagement. As a professional movement coordinator and director, she has devised new works with Bay Area Children’s Theater, New York City Children’s Theater and Atlantic Acting School’s teen conservatory and high school residency program, Staging Success. Her inspirations stem from the famous practices of viewpoints, kinesthetic response, frantic assembly, and commedia dell’arte. She has also worked with companies such as Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, 24th Street Theater, Kids on Stage and more. As a performer, she has worked regionally with Bay Area Children’s Theatre (Resident Artist), 42nd Street Moon, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Marin Theatre Company, Aurora Theatre, Center Repertory Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater to name a few. Tours: Gold Rush the Musical, Rock the Block, Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy the Musical. Her passion for children’s entertainment and education has led her to start her own company called Kids at Heart Productions. They create web-based content for kids and their families.
