Acorn Pictures is an actor's company focusing on producing original film, theater, and new media work in Los Angeles.
Acorn Pictures was formed by the inaugural class of the Atlantic Theater Company's Acting Conservatory in Los Angeles. Our members studied together under David Mamet, Clark Gregg, Lee Cohn, William H. Macy, and Felicity Huffman among others. Encouraged and inspired by the Atlantic Theater Company, we remain united in working together to tell new stories.
Acorn Pictures offers new writers, directors, and producers a creatively supportive enviornment in which to develop and showcase their work.
AGGROCRAG makes original theater that is forged collaboratively in the rehearsal room by merging written material with improvisation. Working from an ever-expanding array of entry points – from our collaborators to the playing space to our relationship to the audience – we make work that is at once surprising and familiar. Oh, and good. It’s also real good.
AGGROCRAG makes work that brings collaborators (performers, designers, producers, writers, dramaturgs) into the creation process from the outset. These collaborators, along with company members, take full ownership over the creation of new works that start in a fluid and exploratory workshop setting and eventually settle into a traditional rehearsal process.
This female-founded theatre company produces Off-Off-Broadway pieces that are culturally significant to modern, urban audiences. Winner of the 2010 NY Innovative Theatre Award for Outstanding Featured Actor (Amir Darvish) and nominated for Outstanding Costume Design (Brooke Berry-Wolf and Mark Mears), Cake Productions is geared towards commercially appealing, thought-provoking, edgy plays. In addition to creating opportunities for women as performers, administrators and designers, Cake focuses heavily on production values and presents their work in welcoming, accessible venues. The company also produces readings of potential new or adapted material for future mainstage productions and offers practical educational workshops for theater students and professionals.
Crashbox strives to be a vibrant part of the theater world and contribute to its growth, producing theater that ignites the soul and creates an ongoing dialogue with our audiences. Our mission: To examine the beautiful human struggle for meaning through all its awkward and broken fragments.
From three corners of America three gentlemen came to gather under the house of Atlantic and shipped off on a boat of bad metaphors and film making. We shot our debut series and its named the same thing as the company. How confusing, right?
We're a collective, trained originally at the Atlantic Theater Company, dedicated to building a space of potentials full of honesty, energy, and kindness, where we can spark conversation which never would have existed. For us, each and every space we work in, from cramped NYC apartments to traditional theater-spaces, from open air Chelsea parks to Brooklyn co-working offices, is transformed by will and ritual into a Grey Room.

An ensemble of renegade artists dedicated to smart, quality entertainment that puts the audience first, fulfilling the promise of affordable, accessible theater for the 21st century.
Pipeline makes theater of the imagination. Our company thrives on adventure and believes no story is worth telling without a little risk. We love our villains as much as our heroes, especially in those puzzling moments when we can’t quite tell them apart. Above all, we aim to leave you with stories that stick somewhere in your heart, your brain, or your guts.
Since our initial production at the Atlantic Theatre Company Second Stage (Firebugs '07), we have produced several plays at Manhattan venues including the NYC Fringe Festival (world premiere of Behold the Bowery, '08), the DUO Theatre (Oh Dad Poor Dad, '08), the Wings Theatre (Moonchildren, '09), the Connelly Theatre (Dark Rapture, '10; Time of Your Life, '12), the Studio Theatre (NYC Premiere of Wonderful World, '10), DCTV (The Argument, '11), Teatro Latea (world premiere of Last Chance, '11), and the Access Theatre (The Tutors, '12). We continue to produce new plays and relevant classics that examine the American experience with compassion and conviction.

The Plinth started during Fall of 2011 in the halls of Atlantic Acting School. As a diverse group of artists from across the globe, we have grown for two years striving to build a theatre company from the ground up, carrying out Practical Aesthetics training forward and out into the world.
The Plinth tells great stories that engage us. As an ensemble of actors from all over the world, we are interested in the playful tangle of language, movement, musicality, and most importantly, the Truth. We want to get closer to the truth, to each other, and to the world that affects us, so that we may affect it.
Inspired by the TRUFFULA Trees of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax…The TRUF is Theatre that Reflects an Unbridled Fascination for the Facts and Fables Upon which we base our Lives and Actions. We chronicle a peoples’ story, a country’s story. We share stories we don’t often hear — the sides of stories we never knew. By pairing multigenerational pieces, we intertwine themes relevant to young and old and blur the line that divides the two. For every show we produce, there is a children’s theatre counterpart. By presenting a pair of shows, we integrate adult and children’s theatre to foster discussion between the ages that will continue long after the curtain has dropped. Our work is not just for adults. It’s not just children’s theatre. Our work sows a seed of TRUF in the minds of our audience and nurtures an environment where it can flourish.
