The 6 Week Summer Intensive program is designed to give students a comprehensive actor training, covering the majority of the curriculum studied in the first year of the 2.5 Year Conservatory program.  Graduates will have a clear understanding of the Practical Aesthetics Script Analysis process, the International Phonetic Alphabet and how to employ I.P.A. in scoring texts, be competent in using the vocal warm-up and understand the principles of an open and honest voice, and understand the principles of performance pertaining to blocking, vocal projection, and character choices. Students are evaluated individually half way through the course on their competency level in each of these areas. Atlantic requires no prerequisite of training or performance but only an interest in the philosophy of the institution and a clear presentation of willingness to work. Because of the rigor of the course work, 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday with a half day on Saturdays, special attention is paid to work ethic and desire when reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
